The course was full of excitement, stress, and creativity! I have now been accepted to Nottingham Trent University which has one of the most respectable art and design schools in the country for studying fashion design. Without the knowledge and education that I have gained from studying the Foundation Art and Design course at NTIC, I would not have achieved this vision. The course has given me many experiences, new skills and a new way of thinking in how I explore my creativity.

My knowledge of art and design has expanded. Discovering and researching new artists, analysing their work and way of thinking made me realise how important individuality is, and therefore I have added a more personal touch to my art work. An exciting thing I have adopted after this course is the use of new media and the development of new skills such as working with metal and the use of a sewing machine which made me combine the use of fabric and metal on my work. My tutors, especially, Peter Matthews, have always been there to advise me, share and explore ideas and encourage me and these valuable things made my educational year throughout the course easier and enjoyable.

I am now moving onto studying the BA Hons Fashion Design course at the Nottingham Trent University. I am taking with me all the experiences and skills I have gained from the Foundation year in art and design. I aim to add to them and develop them further in my future work. I believe that the Foundation in Art and Design at NTIC is an excellent course for students who want to proceed into higher education in art and design related subjects.
