Step 2

Step 3
An email confirming exactly which Hall of Residence you have been allocated. This is usually done about two weeks before the start of your programme.
Important Points
Please read and make sure you understand the following important points before booking your accommodation.
Contracts
Once your contract is signed, you are expected to stay in your room, and pay for it, for the whole period of your Nottingham Trent International College programme. Therefore, you should read your contract carefully before signing.
You must arrange your own contents insurance. This can be organised through a providers such as Endsleigh.
Please note: if you collect the keys and sleep in a room, this is the same as signing a contract.
Halls of Residence are not operated by Nottingham Trent International College, but by Nottingham Trent University or reputable UK student accommodation companies. Your accommodation contract is with the relevant company or Nottingham Trent University, not with Nottingham Trent International College.
Deposit
Please note that a deposit and the first rent instalment must be paid on arrival at all Halls of Residence. You must have £250 in cash to pay the deposit to the residence when you arrive. This deposit is refundable at the end of your contract, as long as there is no damage and you have met the terms of your contract.
Payment
Rent is paid on a term-by-term basis (not each week or each month). The deposit and the first term's rent (a minimum of 14 weeks) are paid on arrival (unless you are under 18, see below).
At the end of the contract, your deposit will be refunded, unless your room is dirty or damaged.
Please Note: if you have any accommodation debts, you will not be able to progress to NTU.
Under 18 students
If you are under 18 years old at the start of the term, you will need to pay the rent for the full duration of the contract when you arrive. You will not be able to pay rent on a termly basis.
Non-smoking
Like all buildings in the UK, the Nottingham Trent International College building and the Halls of Residence are non-smoking.
Lifestyle
You should plan to do your share of cooking and cleaning. Please treat your flatmates, and the flat with respect. For example, do not play loud music late at night. Do not leave dirty saucepans, cooking items, dishes and plates in the kitchen after you have eaten.
Try to arrange evenings when everyone in the flat eats together. This is a great way to make friends, practise your cooking, and save money.
If your flat is left dirty or damaged, your deposit will not be returned.
Confirmation
Your booking for a room in the Halls of Residence is only confirmed when you return the completed Accommodation Form and Arrivals Form.
NTIC will do its best to organise a room in your first choice Hall of Residence, but cannot guarantee this.
Location
Not all Halls of residence are near the City campus. It is quite normal for students to walk for half an hour or to take public transport to get to classes.
The Clifton campus is 20 minute bus ride from the city centre.
Short term accommodation
It is not possible to live in a Hall of Residence for one or two weeks and then move out. By applying for the accommodation, you are committed to staying in and paying for the accommodation for the length of the contract.
If you plan to stay in temporary accommodation while you arrange your long term accommodation, you can stay in an affordable hotel close to the College.
